Exhibition “Depósito- Anotações sobre Densidade e Conhecimento”, curated by Paulo Cunha e Silva.
Rectory of the University of Porto.
FREE WILLY OR THE ARBITRARITY OF CHOICE
If we choose to think that the Creator led Einstein to say “God does not play dice”, then the physicist would not be completely wrong. Only men could play them and God led them to produce square dice. Because Nature, with the mask of Chance, released a single dice, rounded by the infinite proliferation of its faces.
Whether from God, chance or whales, man likes to accumulate data. And it is because of this willingness to die that they even try to talk to whales. By chance and against chance, in the paraphernalia of the deposit, we see the image of a rule. Luck is a ghost of science. This is the dole of data; which is like saying to those who like to launch them, “God gives luck”.
