For the concert I prepared an installation of 8 large scale drawings (acrylic on paper) , inspired by the album´s cover art, combining both elements from front and back cover.
On January 29th 2022 , Garcia da Selva presented his new album Santa Tecla, with an amazing concert at Mira Fórum, Porto.
The original drawings for the álbum were made using old Mecanorma adhesives, once useful in architectural plans for different textures like brick, stone, tile, etc. These vintage Mecanorma sheets belonged to the painter Michael Biberstein, our eternal host at Moinho da Fonte Santa, and forever in our hearts.
Next concert will be April 15th @Casa da Cultura in Setubal.
“Garcia da Selva is Manuel Mesquita, born 44 years ago in São Jorge de Arroios, a portuguese parish in the municipality of Lisbon. He is a co-founder (together with Norberto Lobo and João Lobo) of the post-rock trio NORMAN and plays solo as GARCIA DA SELVA. Started playing live in 1995 with El Magretto Bane.”

“Santa Tecla” comes after Garcia da Selva’s 2017 album “Radical Savage” released on vinyl with cover art by Mafalda Santos, silkscreen-printed, signed and numbered by the artist (300 copies) at Oficina Arara, Porto.
