SANTA TECLA by Garcia da Selva
On the 23rd of September, Garcia da Selva’s new and fantastic album was released, with my cover art.
Music and cover, a tribute to the region that welcomes us today, in the lands of river Minho and to Fonte Santa, home of Ana Nobre de Gusmão and Michael Biberstein, where we lived between 2013 and 2018, managing the artist residency program Moinho Fonte Santa.
“Garcia da Selva is Manuel Mesquita, born 44 years ago in São Jorge de Arroios, a portuguese parish in the municipality of Lisbon. He is a co-founder (together with Norberto Lobo and João Lobo) of the post-rock trio NORMAN and plays solo as GARCIA DA SELVA. Started playing live in 1995 with El Magretto Bane.”

“Santa Tecla” comes after Garcia da Selva’s 2017 album “Radical Savage” released on vinyl with cover art by Mafalda Santos, silkscreen-printed, signed and numbered by the artist (300 copies) at Oficina Arara, Porto.
